Welcome to the HolidayHomes2Let FAQ. Here you’ll find answers to the most common questions from guests and hosts about bookings, payments, cancellations, and using our platform.

Please note: HolidayHomes2Let provides the platform and holds booking deposits securely, but all rental agreements are between the guest and the host. Guests should always review the host’s Additional Rules before booking.

Section: Booking Questions (Guests)

You can search for a property, choose your dates, and click Request to Book. Once the host confirms, you’ll be asked to pay the HH2L booking deposit to secure your stay.

Yes. All bookings require an HH2L booking deposit within 24 hours of the host confirming the booking. This is non-refundable if you cancel.

Each host sets their own deadline (1–8 weeks before arrival, or on arrival). Please check the host’s Additional Rules.

If a guest cancels, the following rules apply:

HH2L booking deposit: This is always non-refundable, regardless of when you cancel.

Payments made directly to the host:

Before the host’s balance due date – Any payments already made to the host should be returned to you, although the host may deduct a reasonable administration fee (see the host’s Additional Rules for details).

After the balance due date – Payments made to the host are normally non-refundable. Please check the host’s Additional Rules for any exceptions or partial refund policies.

It depends on when the cancellation happens:

Before the HH2L deposit is paid (within the 24-hour window):
The reservation is voided and no HH2L charges are taken.
If you’ve sent any money directly to the host, that is handled under the host’s Additional Rules.

After the HH2L deposit is paid:
HH2L refunds the booking deposit to you; the service fee is non-refundable.
Any payments made directly to the host are refunded by the host in line with their Additional Rules (normally in full for host-initiated cancellations).

(Refunds to your original payment method typically clear within 3–7 business days.)

The upfront HH2L booking deposit is collected securely through HolidayHomes2Let.

The remaining balance is paid directly to the host by the deadline they set (for example, 1–8 weeks before arrival, or on arrival day).

Accepted payment methods (e.g., bank transfer, card, or cash on arrival) are listed in the host’s Additional Rules. Always confirm the payment method with the host once your booking is confirmed.

HolidayHomes2Let collects the booking deposit when you confirm your reservation. This deposit is securely held by HH2L until 2 days after check-in, before being released to the host.

The remaining balance is paid using the external payment method specified by the host (for example, bank transfer, card, or cash on arrival).

These balance payments are made directly to the host and are not processed by HH2L. While we perform verification checks on hosts, it remains the guest’s responsibility to follow the host’s payment instructions carefully.

For your security, we strongly advise you to use the External Payment Log available on your Reservation page to confirm all payments made to the host. This creates a clear record for both you and the host.

Section: Hosts

Hosts can sign up for free and create a listing with photos, descriptions, and availability.

Yes. You may set balance due dates and include additional cancellation terms in your listing’s Additional Rules.

HolidayHomes2Let collects the booking deposit from the guest when the reservation is confirmed. This deposit is securely held by HH2L until 2 days after check-in, before being released to you. You can see this in your wallet.

The remaining balance is paid directly by the guest using the payment method and deadline you specify in your listing (e.g. bank transfer, card, or cash on arrival).

Hosts may only cancel if payment deadlines are missed or under exceptional circumstances. Abuse of cancellations may affect your listing.

HH2L charges a small commission on bookings. See our Host Terms for details.

HolidayHomes2Let is operated by KMH Caravan Management Services, based in the UK.

Yes. Deposits are handled securely through stripe, and balance payments are made directly with the host.

Not yet — but the site is fully mobile-friendly, and an app is planned for the future.

All bookings made through HolidayHomes2Let are direct agreements between you (the guest) and the host.

HH2L provides the platform, processes and holds the booking deposit, and carries out basic verification checks on listings and hosts.

However, the rental contract is strictly between the guest and the host. HH2L is not a party to that contract and cannot accept liability for the property itself, the host’s actions, or the guest’s experience.

It remains the guest’s responsibility to review the listing details, the host’s Additional Rules, and to ensure the property is suitable before booking.
